Tennis Museum “Tenniseum” Opens at Tennis Express
HOUSTON, TEXAS July 22, 2025. Not everyone in this lifetime is fortunate enough to leave a legacy that can be truly enjoyed and appreciated by many.
Fortunately, for the almost eight million people in the City of Houston and the Greater Metropolitan area, it is a privilege to witness a truly awe-inspiring tennis memorabilia collection. With collectibles acquired over a span of 45 years, this exhibit showcases the journey of tennis from its inception in 1873 to the present day. Witness history unfold across the globe with hundreds of curios on display, including over 200 racquets signed by legends of the past and present. Discover how tennis racquets evolved from the earliest days of the sport to the modern day across every major brand and model.
All the gratitude to Mr. Richard Cutler, a tennis player and tennis history enthusiast, who recently launched the Tenniseum’s Grand Opening at the gallery on the second floor of Tennis Express in Houston.
“I want to thank Brad Blume and his team at Tennis Express for hosting this tennis collection for public view,” said Richard Cutler, “This collection needs to be seen to be truly appreciated by tennis aficionados and fans.”
“We are proud to showcase this collection of tennis history at Tennis Express and to promote the game of tennis throughout the world,” said Brad Blume, owner and president of Tennis Express.
Imagine this collector and curator showing up at tennis tournaments since his teens—with a bag full of tennis racquets, he would wait patiently for superstars to stop after a match and sign a racquet model that they used. The collection also includes many of the players’ personally owned racquets signed by them and used in all the major tennis tournaments in the world, including the Olympics.
Mr. Cutler’s gallery takes you on everyone’s journey starting from the big tennis names that make America proud: Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Billie Jean King, John McEnroe and Serena Williams, among others.
It then transports you to exciting settings like Switzerland with Roger Federer, to Spain with Rafael Nadal and to Serbia with Novak Djokovic. It carries you further to far-flung travels to Belgium, Germany, Russia and Australia, and further beyond.
As America’s largest private collection of tennis memorabilia, the Tenniseum is a testament to someone’s intense devotion to the sport, and a sincere attempt to give back to the wonders of tennis. Although we only live once, we get to serve twice.
There is no charge to visit the Tenniseum which is open on the second floor of Tennis Express during business hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
